Knowledge Management (KM) technologies comprise information technologies that are primarily used for information management (Ou & Davison, 2012)… These technologies are similar to information technologies but focus more on facilitating knowledge management than information processing. KM technologies are of significant importance in the knowledge-driven economy as information access is a key resource of production for businesses (Asrar-ul-Haq & Anwar, 2016). Knowledge is an asset for businesses as it enables them to assess their processes, markets, and products. For example, knowledge of processes can enable the business to streamline their production operations to achieve efficiency and improved performance (Asrar-ul-Haq & Anwar, 2016). Given this, businesses have focused on gathering, preservation, and utilization of knowledge for development and future success. Thus, KM signifies an organization’s ability to integrate a unified approach of coping with its vast knowledge resources to realize the gain and interact better with the business environment for an overall improvement on their performance standards.
