The Affordable Care Act (ACA) commonly referred as Obama Healthcare or the Patient Healthcare and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) is one of the largest health reform legislation to have been made in United States history. It was passed by the 111th congress and signed into law by president Barrack Obama back in march 2010. This act had three main agendas; one to reform the private insurance market, two to expand Medicaid to the working poor with income to over 100% of the federal poverty level and lastly change the way in which medical decisions are made especially on the way that payments are made.
The Affordable Care Act is one of the most controversial piece of legislation. With a population of over 300 million Americans, a population so large that differences are bound to appear especially on their opinions.
