SCS 502 Module Three Worksheet: Observational Study Selection and Review

Using SNHU’s Psychology Resource Guide for Undergraduate and Graduate Students, you will search for and select a journal article which uses observation in the methodological design. Use either the PsycARTICLES or PsycINFO database, select “Advanced Search,”, and then one of the options that will appear is “Methodology.” You can use this to narrow down your search to only those options which are likely to be observational. This should make the process of finding and selecting an article easier.

Using the article you select, answer the questions below. A narrative format is not required. Your answers should be embedded directly into this worksheet; you do not need to open a new document.

Question #1: What is the APA citation for your article?

Question #2: Briefly describe the methodology of the article, including the population being studied.

Question #3: Do you feel as if the results obtained by this methodology are reliable? Why or why not?

Question #4: Do you feel as if the results obtained by this methodology are valid? Why or why not?
