Recently your company merged with a much larger Boston Accounting Firm to improve efficiencies, increase revenues, cut costs and adopt best practice in the industry. After the merger, you find yourself on a team of four other individuals that you have never met. Each individual is from a different department: Auditing, Tax, Corporate Governance, Legal and Insurance. The purpose of your team is to downsize your department in terms of employees.

Write an essay (600-750 words) that examines the pros and cons of franchising. Be sure to address the following:
Discuss the steps involved in typical franchising opportunities.
Include a discussion of how the initial financing of franchises differs from other types of businesses.
Take a position on whether you would consider pursuing a franchise. Defend your reasoning.
While APA formatting is not required for this assignment, solid academic writing is expected.
Franchises can be regarded as the licenses which will be offered by an organisation. The license will give the third party power to conduct any business which will feature the organisation’s brand name as well as the business model used by the franchisor. One of the benefits of a franchise is that it will be a good investment. However, this will rely on whether the initial investment which has been made has been doubled in the form of profits incurred by the franchise and the sales revenue obtained (Baucus, Baucus, & Human, 1993).
