After reading the two papers, submit a written response to these questions. Relate the topics to your own experiences. Your response should be 600-800 words, using APA style formatting.
1. What are the characteristics, tasks, and patterns of clinical workflow? Give examples.
2. What are the essential elements for the successful integration of HIS with clinical workflow? List the possible elements and explain at least 3 elements in detail.
3. Examine the clinical workflow diagrams in both papers #1 and #2. What are the common categories and components in these diagrams? How is the workflow process illustrated (describe the arrows and blocks used)?
4. Examine the information flow model in paper #2. What is the information hub, the common element of all the information flow models? What is the relationship between workflow and information flow?
