Take five to ten minutes to record your observations of the world with respect to the material for this course. Take this time to relate what we are talking about in class to what you experience in the world. Every day humans make thousands of decisions. Choose one that you think is related to sustainability and discuss it, its incremental impact and its cumulative impact as many people make the same choice you made. Each daily entry should be about a paragraph in length (150 – 200 words). It should be long enough to tell the story, cover the subject, yet concise and to the point. It should waste no words.
Communicating Sustainability. One of the biggest barriers to sustainability is people’s and organizations’ ability to communicate the issues. From class you have seen how important it is for people to effectively communicate problems with sustainability, justify its importance and suggest measurable ideas that contribute to the alleviation of the problem. This assignment is to determine, not only your ability to think and use the material you have learned in this class but to find out how well you can develop a discussion about sustainability to your family and friends. Look around your community and find problems related to issues of sustainability you have learned in lecture, text book or book reports. Remember it has to be a problem that is at the community level and not something like global climate change or foreign oil dependency! Communicate these issues to determine if they are as important to your family and friends as they are to you. Also discuss amongst your family and friends possible “solutions” to these problems. Remember these are issues about your community and not about what is wrong with your family!
Indicate the word count for each entry. For example: Day 1 (155 words), Day 2 (200 words), 1/27/2020 (163 words)
Need 7 day of entries in total.
