In Week 1 you began to examine the issue of standardized testing. Some standardized tests are labeled as “high stakes” because the results are used to make significant decisions. For example, tests such as the SAT and ACT are used to predict a student’s performance in College. A score on one of these tests can end up being a deciding factor as to whether a student is admitted into a College or not. Prior to completing this assignment read Joseph (2011) and Smith-Maddox (1998).

Provide an analysis on cultural issues in high-stakes testing and college entrance testing. Questions you may consider include, but are not limited to:
Are the practices of high-stakes testing and college entrance testing culturally competent?
In what ways are cultural issues being taken into consideration with high-stakes testing and college entrance exams?
How well is a culturally competent curriculum aligned to high-stakes testing?
Propose a set of five culturally competent assessment best practices.
In addition, your paper must:
Be 1050 to 1750 words
Provide references for all quoted, paraphrased, and summarized information from scholarly and/or credible sources both in-text and in an APA references list.
