Culture can also influence an individual’s perception and expectations regarding marriage and family. Individuals with different cultural backgrounds may encounter opposing values as a significant obstacle in their marriage. Marrying a person of the same cultural background or different culture is not going to decide the after-effects of the marriage I have seen many examples of people coming or going with certain cultures to countries who have different cultures or same culture have or had problems. They go out with several people but ultimately end up marrying people from their own country with a similar culture. And even if some people marry, they end up divorcing the person and marrying another person. Only love can determine whether or not to marry someone from the same culture. As much as love is concerned it is depending on what bond they both share. You can develop a love for how another culture approaches family and marriage and how culture influences people. As you and your spouse appreciate your different cultures, you will grow in respect for each other.

Combining cultures often means integrating value systems, providing a global advantage in your marriage. You can synthesize valuable tenets of other cultures. To combine cultures, you have to be able to negotiate what is beneficial for your marriage and what isn’t. You learn which parts of your culture strengthen a relationship and which ones don’t. Creating this foundation takes mental and emotional strength, but also love for your spouse. When you undertake this process successfully, you both develop a sense of what it takes to compromise. In a multicultural marriage, a failure to communicate expectations and the refusal to compromise will lead to frustration and the dissolution of their marriage. It might be necessary for multicultural marriages to surrender their cultural expectations when it comes to marriage to accommodate the other

spouse’s values.

As far as marriage I really don’t think it should matter if both people come from the same culture. I do know even though it shouldn’t matter that it will come to some challenges. With being From to totally different cultures. As far as when it comes to raising the kids and other challenges couples face. But I feel like it would be an experience and really getting to know each other before determining marriage is best. And could you adapt to certain things. What would be gained is that that you will learn different things and values that the other culture offers. Some you may like others you may totally disagree with. I feel like the relationship would have a balance. You may come to love certain things that cultures do better than the one your an accustomed to. But I do believe to deal with someone from another culture, you would need to be totally open-minded and be willing to learn and don’t mind change. But people should be able to bring stuff from each culture and build with each other. So I feel if you meet someone from another culture you should really get to know each other and learn each other before marrying each other. Because some people are so stuck in their ways that they have learned and become accustomed to that you may not have a successful union.
