The Chinese approach has been to keep the COVID cases to as low as possible or
zero, while other countries aim to simply flatten the curve with less strict restrictions.
Statistics show that coronavirus cases and related deaths in China are fewer than the
rest of the world, with roughly 1.5 million cases and about 5,000 deaths. In comparison,
the U.S., aiming to flatten the curve with a population the quarter size of China has
recorded more than 98 million cases and more than 1 million deaths. Despite the
significant difference in cases, the “Zero Covid” policy seems inhumane and
problematic
for the people in a sense. In the grand scheme, do you think this policy is
effective ?
