From an assessment of the relationship between England and its colonies, I came to a conclusion that England had the right to tax the colonists. This assertion is based on the fact that England provided some of the major systems of administration that were present in the colonies. It also provided members of the British Army to the colonies who would ensure that there was enough security. As a result, this warranted that the colonies were supposed to pay taxes to Britain where the central government was based.
