How do the media influence sport?
The media plays a significant role both in the growth and development of sport. The coverage of sports in the media allows the public to learn about the games, thus become followers. There are millions of fans of different games across the globe, such as soccer, baseball, rugby, and athletics. As the television and radio stations air the matches to the viewers, they pay the rights. The money facilitates the development of various sports as the players earn decent salaries while the training facilities are improved. Moreover, the media coverage of sport facilitates its development by exposing it to various sponsors. Thus, the media plays a critical role in the advancement of sport in the society.
