Mini Case Write Up
Learning Goal: I’m working on a sports management writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
Identify your favorite competitive video game (or pick an interesting one if you do not have a favorite). Identify and describe: the video game (e.g., its genre, gameplay style, when it was released, interesting facts, etc.), what platforms it is primarily played on (e.g., personal computer, consoles, and/or mobile), what are some major leagues, competitions, teams and players/streamers of the game, who sponsors the game and its events, legal and ethical concerns relevant to this game, its consumers and their demographics, and how you would improve upon the game and its future growth (or decline). Please note the above list is not a strict requirement for what to include, but rather a general way to structure your mini case. In addition, be sure to include things you found interesting about the video game and its ecosystem within your mini case – in other words, make this mini case not only descriptive but interesting as well. You can use both informal (e.g., your opinion) as well as formal (e.g., reputable media and academic scholarship) sources to support your walkthrough.
