Employee Laws

Employee Laws

Continuing with the assumptions from the previous discussion, as the human resources training professional, you have trained hiring managers about the importance of some employment laws. After your training, you have asked managers to provide feedback to you about their understanding of the 6 employee laws. The following laws were included in the training: 800 words with in-text citations and have at least 4 sources. Must have a Low Plagiarism score.

  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
  • Equal Pay Act
  • Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
  • Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA)

Research the following questions to determine the expected responses from the hiring managers:

  • How could each of the employment laws affect attracting potential candidates to your company or industry?
  • How would you use the laws to narrow down the best candidates to be interviewed?
  • How are the laws used in the interview process?
  • How are the laws used in a job description or a job posting, and why?

Organizational Hiring Process

Hiring processes within any organization are some of the most important activities within the firm since they determine the quality and ease of business engagement within the business. Setting particular standards to be followed by the hiring team ensures that the management only accesses the workers whose character would fit well into the organization in question. Some positions within the business need the candidates to not only be well versed with the appropriate character to work in the said company but also the understanding of the various laws that define appropriate practice. Understanding different labor laws would especially be important for employees in leadership positions since it ensures that they would implement policies that acknowledge the importance of adherence to the laws within the company.
