Define and explain the concepts of “race” and “ethnicity” and elaborate on at least three examples of laws and/or changes to the U.S. population that have occurred since the start of the 1800’s that have diversified our society. Support the items you focus on with statistics concerning this increased diversification and the processes surrounding it. Provide three additional examples of how discrimination and/or inequities exist between ethnic groups in the U.S. currently regarding sectors of the economy such as individual and household income, employment, educational access and attainment, health outcomes and healthcare access, and/or crime and legal punishment of criminality.
