If you were asked to develop a plan to address Global Health, you might quickly become overwhelmed with the many directions you could go. Should you focus on eradicating communicable diseases or would addressing humanitarian emergencies be more important? Which direction might have the most impact on human health, economies, equity and the planet? The goal of this assignment is to get you thinking about all the concepts and issues discussed in the course and how you might use this information to identify not only the most pressing issues, but how these issues might be viably and realistically addressed.
Each week, you will be asked to complete a homework worksheet. Weekly HW relate to key concepts and ideas introduced in the module lectures and readings. The HW are a way to demonstrate your understanding/comprehension of the major concepts. Most of the HWs will ask that you include data or work with data tables. Global health is a scientific field that uses data to help form policy, keep an eye on health issues in communities and worldwide and allow us to evaluate effectiveness of health systems and interventions.
