In this first part of the Scholar-Practitioner Project (SPP), you will select a research topic to be the focus of your SPP. This can be the same as or different from the public health event/trend or disease/condition you worked with in previous modules. You will review literature related to this topic, which you will use to inform an explanation of its importance and its impact on various public health priorities.

In a 2- to 3-page paper (not including title page and references):

Write a brief literature review. Be sure that you:
• Describe the research topic you selected (1-2 pages).
• Explain why the public health topic is important, comparing state, regional, or national public health priorities. (1 page)

• Support your statements/arguments with evidence: Five or more scholarly references that are current (e.g., less than 5 years old).
