Description of the Genre
The simplest definition of poetry would be a form of literature that involves artistic combination of words and sentences, with the intention of passing a particular message in the form of emotion, or elicit a reaction from the audience. Consequently, there are often patterns present in the words used in poetry, all these intended to create some form of excitement for the reader or audience of the said piece of literature. In most cases, poetry includes some message that is often not as clear as the audience would perceive it to be necessitating that the audience take the time to understand the poem and develop potential meanings from his or her understanding of the article.
