Competition analysis is one of the most significant determinants of profitability in a company. According to Michael Porter, a professor at Harvard University, Managers often look at competition narrowly (Stewart, 2012). The five competitive forces include the threat of new entrants, threat of substitute products, bargaining power of suppliers, bargaining power of buyers and rivalry among existing competitors (Stewart, 2012).
