As a nurse we take on the responsibility to compassion, respect and advocate

Below I have a bunch of notes and while like to organize it to form a couple paragraphs. Please organize and check punctuation, etc.

As a nurse we take on the responsibility to compassion, respect and advocate for those in need this should not not be applied to atienes , but to our fellow nurses. Nurse buylling is becoming too common and many of those nurses are regretting they chose that profession. According to RNnetwork 45% of nurses are harassed by other nurses , no wonder every hospital has high turnover. The ones who put up with it stay but then you have burnout, so this buyyling does not help anyone. But why is this happening, I ask myself all the time, where’s the respect and compassion for one another? There is a saying that is nurses are way too familiar with; “Nurses eat their young” we should be encouraging our young nurse the future of nursing depends on it and when we are old and sick we will depend on those same nurses to help care for us. Remember all of us were new inexperienced nurse at one point. Think of that one nurse or nurses that help you along they way and made you feel like you were one of them, wouldn’t you want to do the same for someone else.

I recently started a float pool position in hopes that it would help open up my opportunities as a nurse. Let me tell you I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I have a new scenery with a bunch of new faces and on top of that I have no idea where anything is on any of the units. I can honestly say at the beginning of my shifts i am filled with anxiety and sometimes want to cry, but a few days ago something happened that made me feel like I am not alone and the support i need is within arms reach. I was on a unit I had not yet been assign to and super lost with 6 patients. I get myself situated receive report at bedside all while thinking to just run!! Two of my patients required a lot of attention, the minute I leave one room the call light of another room goes off, before I know it, it’s mes pass time. I guess I looked overwhelmed and because I was wearing different colored scrubs another nurse comes up introduced herself and offers help if I need since I was a float and was not familiar with the floor. But it was what she said next that changed my whole night and erased my feeling of anxiety. She said “Everyone, this is Krystal, she’s from float pool, we need to help her, she’s here to help us” after she said that all the other nurses responded yes! and thank you, you do not know how much you’re appropriate we are supper understaffed. This is what I was talking about nurse being a team, showing each other respect. All of us nurses can learn so much form each other if we just take the time and be conscious of what we are doing. Mother Teresa once said, “You can do what I cannot do, I can do what you cannot do; Together we can do great things”.
