Discussion Question #2 (I need 800-word response with 2 cited references)
In 1968, Jane Elliott, an elementary school teacher, conducted an experiment with children to explore social and psychological dynamics affecting one’s sense of “belongingness.” The lessons learned from this study remain relevant today as we explore inclusion.
Conduct your own independent research of publicly available articles or videos regarding the famous “Brown Eyes, Blue Eyes” experiment conducted by Jane Elliott in 1968 so that you are prepared to participate in this discussion.
Create a post in which you respond to “Brown Eyes, Blue Eyes.” What’s the most interesting takeaway for you? How does this influence your thinking about diversity and inclusion?
Discussion Question #3 (I need 800 word response with 2 cited references)
As you have seen, inclusion requires that the individual feels like they are treated as an insider within the organization and believes their uniqueness is valued.
Create a post in which you comment on your own experience with inclusion. When you’ve experienced inclusion, what were the behaviors that others showed towards you that made you feel like you were being treated as an insider and your uniqueness was valued?
