What does Julia think about their differences by the end of the book?

There are three threads, and you will reply with a substantial comment (about a paragraph) on

Family and Characterization: Julia feels very different from the rest of her family, like
an outsider. But her grandmother observes that Julia is more like her mother than she
realizes. How is Julia like her mother? Does she have anything in common with her
father? With her sister?
What does Julia think about their differences by the end of the book? How does
understanding her family better help her feel more connected to them? How have their
relationships changed?

Why does Julia feel more comfortable with her extended family in Los Ojos than the
extended family she grew up with in Chicago?
