Write a Qualitative Problem Statement, Purpose Statement and Research Question

Week 6 Assignment 1: Write a Qualitative Problem Statement, Purpose Statement and Research Question
Review your problem statement from Week 4 and the theories you selected as the basis for an inquiry related to that problem. Revise these elements according to instructor feedback, and then formulate a qualitative purpose statement that directly addresses your stated problem.

In addition, the purpose should address the following:

Reflect the core objectives of your study.
Identify the type of qualitative research method you will employ.
Be written in proper qualitative research language.
Define key concepts from supporting theories/frameworks.
Reference potential participants in your study.
Justify why your purpose statement will adequately address the problem. Be sure to include additional explanations of your stated purpose, as needed.

Then, write on to two qualitative research questions that will help you address the stated purpose of the study. Remember, research questions are not the same as interview or survey questions, and that qualitative research questions should be open-ended.

Length: 3-4 pages, not including title page and references

Support your paper with at least five scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.

Week 6 Assignment 2: Develop an Interview Instrument

Imagine you are conducting interviews to answer the research question(s) from the previous assignment. Then, write a paper in which you:

Explain your participant demographics and the expected number of participants. How will you know that number of interviews will yield sufficient data?
How will you recruit participants to ensure the necessary sample size? What are the pros and cons of your chosen sampling strategy?
Develop an interview protocol with introductory remarks, date, participant ID, and interview questions.
Develop a set of eight to 10 questions you can ask participants to shed light on the phenomenon you plan to study. Consider the following when you design your questions:
What are the key design considerations and best practices when developing interview questions?
How did those considerations affect your own interview protocol design?
Where and how will you conduct the interviews to make sure you record all answers correctly? What necessary approvals will you need from the IRB in that regard?
Explain the quality criteria for conducting qualitative research. How will you ensure quality of your interview instrument?
Once you have designed your interview instrument and planned your data collection phase, explain how you will analyze the data. What process will you employ? How will you minimize researcher bias? How will you present analyzed data and how will results from the data analysis inform your conclusions?

Length: 5-7 pages, not including title page, survey, and references. Attach your interview instrument as an appendix.

Support your paper with at least five scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.
