Why Molotov wanted the “a second front” to be opened in 1942

Molotov wanted the United States and the other allied forces, including Britain, to open an a second front on the Eastern to give Russian forces and civilian some relief. Hitler had sufficient resources to fight the war on the Western front; hence, Molotov believed the only way to weaken the Nazis were through opening another front of the war.
