Question 1

For this question, the study chosen is Stanley Milgram’s experiment, which focused on the conflict that exists between personal conscience and obedience. Despite the study allowing persons to gain deeper insights into the obedience issue, it had unethical aspects. It failed to meet the ethical standards of informed consent. The study violated the ASA Principle B, which focuses on the integrity of sociologists. Under this ethical standard, sociologists are required to be honest and fair in their undertakings. However, this was not the case in Milgram’s experiment.
