Thesis statement- “Racial Profiling” refers to the discriminatory practice by law enforcement officials of targeting individuals for suspicion of crime based on the individual’s race, ethnicity, religion or national origin (American Civil Liberties Union, 2021). When referring to the U.S. Constitution, every American citizen regardless of his or her race, have equal protection under the law of against any unreasonable search or seizures. However, over the years, American citizen’s Constitutional rights are constantly being violated due to racial profiling.
- Why did you choose this topic?
Since the 20th century to present, racial profiling has been an ongoing widespread issue not only in the United States but across world that not only affects the victims but community as well that places distrust in law enforcement, nonetheless, that continues to racially divide the nation.
