Many people think that there is much difference between domestic trade and global trade. Many capitalists see global trade as a threat to the local trade because they own many of the businesses in the country. Many countries put laws that are unfavorable to the external traders or even foreign companies in fear of competition with locally made products and industries.

Michael Zweig argues that there is no difference between foreign and domestic trade as they share much common.
