The beginning of the Christian era and the 12th century B.C contains members of the Hebrew-Jewish community who composed and edited collected selected writings called the Old Testament. The Old Testament, also known as the Masoretic texts includes the books of law, the historical books, the poetic books, the Major Prophets and the Minor Prophets. The term Old Testament originated from a combination of the three original divisions of the Hebrew Bible which were Torah (law), Kethubhim (writings) and Nebhiim (Prophets).
