Media depiction of elder persons, for instance in the newspapers, both reflect and inform public mindsets. By gaining awareness of culturally prejudicated mindsets about elder individuals, and the manner in which these mindsets are mirrored in the habits older adults are perceived, care for, and treated in the society. The increasing number of elder individuals in many countries has catalyzed the researchers to research media depictions of older individuals in society (Haberkern & Szydlik, 2010).
