Annotated Bibliography

Everyone i have this assignment

  • Email to your account the 5 articles you have chosen so that you may read them.
  • ***APA citation info: Once you’ve opened the article to full text, click on “Cite” and choose APA to find the APA-style citation of this article. Copy and paste this citation into your annotated bibliography. All citations should appear in alphabetical order, with the paragraphs directly under each citation. So you should have the first citation (alphabetically) and then the two paragraphs in which you summarize and critique the study described in that journal article. Then you should have the second citation, etc.

Writing a strong APA-style Annotated Bibliography

Your annotated bibliography will consist of your summary, assessment, and reflection on 5 articles, each of which has been published in a psychology journal.

NOTE: The following passage is taken from http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/614/1/

A bibliography is a list of sources (books, journals, websites, periodicals, etc.) one has used for researching a topic. Bibliographies are sometimes called “references” or “works cited” depending on the style format you are using. A bibliography usually just includes the bibliographic information (i.e., the author, title, publisher, etc.).

An annotation is a summary and critique.

Therefore, an annotated bibliography includes a summary and critique of each of the sources. Your annotations should do the following:

Summarize: Some annotations merely summarize the source. What are the main arguments? What is the point of this book or article? What topics are covered? If someone asked what this article/book is about, what would you say? The length of your annotations will determine how detailed your summary is.

Critique: After summarizing a source, you should critique the research study you just summarized. What are the strengths of the research study? What are its weaknesses?

***Go to www.apa.org for details regarding how to write your citations (references).

Note: DO NOT USE ANY DIRECT QUOTES IN THIS ASSIGNMENT NOR IN THE POWERPOINT. Remember that anyone submitting a plagiarized and/or purchased paper or powerpoint will receive an grade of ZERO for the assignment. Further, if any part of the assignment is plagiarized, you will receive a zero for the assignment.

Do not use “I,” “we,” “you,” “us,” or “me” in this assignment nor in the powerpoint. You should write in the third person only.

The paper and powerpoint you submit should be formal, logical and easy to follow. The instructor assumes that assignments will be free from errors of spelling, mechanics and grammar. Such errors can interfere with a reader’s comprehension of the text and can lower the grade of the assignment significantly – edit your assignment carefully!
