1. One of the many Erdich’s arguments in this essay is that even though a person’s liberty to make choices about his or her life is perceived to lay in their own hand’s authorities should enforce limits to these liberties. Particularly for our case, pregnant women should be forced to abstain from alcohol and drug abuse at the time of their pregnancy. This forced abstinence should be an option in case the victims can’t be helped or counseled.
