As a single world of shared meaning, much Prophet Muhammad directed his followers to pray with Mecca as the base of the Islam religion. Most importantly, Mecca had always been an important destinations for people in the Arab Peninsula, housing “representations of some 360 deities and was the destination for many pilgrims.” Therefore, there was always a chance that people who moved to mecca for their seasonal rituals would gain some contact with the Islamic faith, in addition to learning that it was a faith appropriately designed for the Arabian communities
