Using online news resources such as CNN, MSNBC, or Yahoo! News, find an article about a piece of legislation that is currently being debated. Once you’ve chosen a topic you like, find two other articles about the same piece of legislation, or same issue, from other news agencies online or in the print media.

Write a summary of the issue, citing your three articles as your sources. Be sure to include a proper source list with your summary. Your summary should be double spaced and 1-2 pages in length.

American Dream and Promise Act
Immigration has been a primary issue of debate during the entire Trump presidency so far. House Democrats and Republicans have been significantly divided among party lines, with the Republicans seeking to eliminate certain protections put in place during the Obama administration on protection of immigrants. Consequently, passing of the American Dream and Promise Act of 2019 by 237-187 votes was a unanimous decision among the democrats in addition to seven Republicans, who voted for the bill in Congress (Alvarez, 2019).
