Big Data Risk

Big Data Risk

Big data is a group of data that is collected and analyzed to see if trends are occurring. Big data can be in
various forms such as images, graphs, videos, or text. One of the most widely used big data collection in
healthcare is electronic medical records (EMRs). The EMRs are considered big data because it contains a
lot of information: patient’s medical history, demographic information, medications, immunizations, test
results, and progress notes. EMRs benefit physicians when diagnosing, creating treatment plans,
predicting complications or future problems through trends, and minimizing costs. (Coursea, 2023).
