Congratulations! You have been gifted $1 million by an angel investor, who is passionate about your business hopes, dreams, goals, and future. Through this generous gift, which requires 10% profit sharing, you now have the opportunity to open whatever business your heart desires.
An important aspect of any start-up is having a solid strategic plan in place. Furthermore, it is critical to determine your mission, vision, values, and code of ethics. For Portfolio Project Milestone 1, you are required to provide the following information:
Details about your dream business. Specifically, explain why you are interested in opening this business, your experience (or lack thereof) in this industry, and your hopes for the business.
Then, develop your company’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives for the future. When developing your organization’s objectives, create bullet points about what you would like to accomplish in the next year, five years, and ten years.
Additionally, provide details about what type of an organizational culture you’d like to foster. Specifically, think about the following: the organization’s hierarchy, effective communication methods, type of formality, and inclusivity.
Finally, create a brief outline showing what information you would include in your employee handbook. Explain what policies and legislation you plan to highlight.
Submission Requirements
Three- to five-page paper, not including the title and reference pages, which are required.
Your paper must be properly cited and formatted according to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing & APA (Links to an external site.)
Include a formal reference page. This is an individual paper; however, you should reflect on our discussion forums and incorporate ideas from there, as appropriate.
You must support your analysis with at least three scholarly references and can include resources from this course.
The CSU-Global Library (Links to an external site.) is a good place to find these sources. You cannot use Wikipedia or any CSU-Global assignment. For this assignment, a credible source is defined as:
A scholarly or peer-reviewed journal article.
A government-based website or publication.
A trade or industry journal article, publication, or website, including those from trade organizations such as SHRM.org and TD.org.
