Research the corporation on its own website, the public filings on the Securities and Exchange Commission EDGAR database (http://www.sec.gov/edgar.
Write a four to six (-6) page paper in which you:
- Assess how globalization and technology changes have impacted the corporation you researched.
- Apply the industrial organization model and the resource-based model to determine how your corporation could earn above-average returns.
- Assess how the vision statement and mission statement of the corporation influence its overall success.
- Evaluate how each category of stakeholder impacts the overall success of this corporation.
- Use at least three (3) quality references. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not quality as academic resources.

A business operation occurs in such a way that it benefits its stakeholders either by giving back profits or providing the outputs ready for use. Public corporations are government owned organizations that receive funding from the state, and although they operate for benefits, the primary purpose of the operations is to serve the citizens. The costs might be too low as compared to other similar businesses and hence encourage increased use by the public. Amtrak is an excellent example of a government-owned firm that falls under both the state and federal management and mainly focuses on providing rail services. The transport system in the US is a competitive field with many forms carrying goods and people to different locations. Amtrak has recently adopted the modern technological advancements that project towards ensuring the comfort of the consumer and staff members as well. Through the technical improvement and motivation from mission and vision statement, then Amtrak could increase its profits.
