The popularity of television drama has resulted in creation of different television series that have had a significant effect on the audience to the extent of acquitting a cultic group of followers. George R. R. Martin’s decision to collaborate with directors David Benioff and Daniel B. Weiss for the production of his book A Song of Ice and Fire into the HBO series Game of Thrones has resulted to the production of one of the greatest television series in recent history. Some of the audience who have had the opportunity to watch the show may even term it as the greatest there has ever been. The show premiered for its eighth and final season on 14 April 2019, and one of the most significant developments and sources of anticipation in the series lies in the discrepancies present between the book and the film series. The differences in character development have been critical to maintaining interest in the television series in addition to ensuring that people who watch the series may also have interest in reading the books, to get the different sides of the story according to the two channels.
