Comparison between Descenders and Wall-E
Firstly, both works of art indicate human beings’ resourcefulness to use the available resources and develop solutions in face of adversity. Notably, one of the most significant gains from contemporary technology has been the ability to address social and other issues with ease and efficiency than would have been the case in the absence of the technology in question. Notably, Wall-e was a result of an invention intended to help clean up the world after the human race had destroyed the environment so much that the world was no longer habitable. In one instance, the technologies developed to house and shield the human race from adversities in the environment explicitly indicates that “orders are do not return to Earth.” Consequently, the human race had appropriately developed a system that would only sallow people back to earth as long as the environment was good enough to support life on the planet. On the other hand, Tim-21 in Descenders is developed as an aide to a miner’s son, an indication of the world’s dependence on robot technology. In both cases, the robots were essential to the welfare of the human race, by making life more bearable through their resourcefulness and ability to withstand more adversity than people would have managed to withstand.
