Details: An employee of a large corporation was fired from her job due to misuse of the company’s email. The fired employee forwarded an email containing an inappropriate joke to her entire department. The employees who opened this email were also fired while the employees who chose not to open the email where not fired.
Should the employee have known not to send such an email? If so, how should she have known that sending the email was inappropriate? Should those who opened the email have also been fired? If you are currently employed, do you have work email policy? If so, please share it with the class.
