In essay #1 of our course in Social Deviance students were asked to develop an argument regarding the question as to whether social deviance is a learned behavior.
Essay #2 asks that you develop a two-page position paper focusing on the theme of characteristic offender behaviors and types of crime consistent with the literature; your moral compass; and your field of study/profession.

You are asked to develop your position paper utilizing the following questions:

1. Which of Capeheart and Milovanovic’s four definitions of crime best represents your professional and pragmatic perspective of social deviance, crime, and offender characteristic behaviors? Why?

2. Accordingly, compare and contrast the various characteristics of criminal behavior (selecting at least two examples) with Cavins or Huling’s (et al) delinquency models.

3. How can you use this comparison in your chosen field of study/profession?
