For this assignment, you will be applying the labels that Patterson uses on pages 2 – 4 to specific changes you have witnessed or experienced or observed (or endured!) in your school, district, or organization (the one you currently work in or have worked in in the past), and personally.
1) Write a paragraph about EACH of these: Event Change, Compliance Change, Pocket Change, and Culture Change. Define each briefly, then describe an example of that type of change from your context (current or former). [United States Army Retired. Four Tours in Iraq. Come at this from military leader aspect please.]

2) Then write a paragraph with your opinion about the leader’s role in implementing these types of changes, in general. Who led well? Who didn’t seem to understand how to lead change? (no names, just descriptions). What have been the noticeable behaviors of the individuals leading these changes? Effective/ Ineffective? Managing/ Leading/ Both?

3) How would you describe YOUR resilience level when it comes to moving ahead in the face of adversity? (reference Patterson pp. 9 – 12). Right now, everyone is facing the adversity of the COVID-19 pandemic. How are YOU responding to it? What is your personal level of resilience right now? How are you “leading yourself” through change? 4) What can you learn from this exercise?
