The federal government by enacting policies against the plain Indians occupying lands in the West spoke volumes of the white government attitude towards these people. The history of the plain Indians versus the federal government traces an almost abusive relationship where the latter used various approaches to tame the development of the Native Americans whilst fulfilling the wants of envious whites.
