Each year thousands of people die from such infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis (TB), and Emerging & Neglected Diseases like African sleeping sickness, measles, Chagas disease, and toxoplasmosis. The challenge for society is to eliminate the world’s most devastating infectious diseases through leadership in scientific discovery. Have the diseases multiplied in number or has the medical world gotten better at detecting ?
