The portrayal of women in Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves is very different from that of their male counterparts. The first difference that I identified is based on the roles that women are supposed to play in the society. Women are portrayed as individuals who are only supposed to attend to the house chores whereas their male counterparts are tasked with fending for the needs of the family through going to the forest to collect grain and wood for the family. The differences is roles and duties means that men have to work hard for their families to lead healthy and successful lives.
