Businesses often make their decisions based on an array of factors within the business environment. In some cases, the factors could work to the advantage of the business, in which case the management enacts policies to leverage such power to its advantage. Among the several factors discussed in this week’s video is the intensity of the rivalry between the competitors within a particular sector (Dobbs, 2014). Essentially, the activities by the business management within any sector always take into consideration the possible effect of their actions on their competitor’s policy, which in turn explains the level of business rivalry.
