Dirty Bombs
The primary objective of anyone setting off a dirty bomb is the dispersal of radiological material, which explains the formal name of the devices as radiological dispersal device (Rosoff & Von Winterfeldt, 2007). Consequently, the primary intention of anyone setting off the bomb would not be to cause devastation through the blasts, but ensure that the consequences of the explosion last long after its detonation. After all, the government would have to make further investment in cleaning up the area, in addition to the people having to visit healthcare facilities for treatment from the radioactive exposure.
