Question 1

My beliefs on the purposes of education have been refined since my first assessment. Initially, I believed that the objective of education is to empower the members of the community to enable them to take active roles in the social, political, and economic issues affecting the society. The course has helped me to learn that education is an essential tool in advancing social agendas effectively. It equips individuals with the skills and knowledge, which enable them to take part in the decision-making processes that seek solutions to crucial issues affecting the society. Therefore, children should not just attend schools to gain reading and computational skills. Instead, they should study how to take part in social, civic, and economic activities to enhance the well-being of their communities.
