Mental health issues are of primary concerns to the society and despite the significant effort by various stakeholders to avail the health services to those in need, people suffering from mental health issues do not always make the effort to visit health facilities. It is even more challenging for those that not only suffer from mental health issues, but also have to deal with addiction challenges. According to research, a relationship exists between mental health and addiction, in which case people suffering from mental health problems are likely to be viewed as having brought it upon themselves due to their drug use (Barry & Huskamp, 2011).
