Immigration Regulations

Immigration has been a significant issue in the United States, and most recently, the president’s zero tolerance policy on illegal immigration has had far reaching consequences on immigrants. According to the policy, the president had initially directed that any parent who attempts to cross into the United States, illegally, and is caught in the process, the government officials would have the authority to separate the family and send the child into foster care, while remanding the parent. The policy was met by significant public outcry, causing the president to go back on his position, ultimately changing the policy into one that inferred that the parents and the child would be held within the same location.
