Each question is worth 50 points. The essay questions will be chosen from the questions listed under Essay Directions & Questions under the Getting Started tab. At this point you should have a saved draft for each of these essays written while reading the chapter. You wil now have 48 hours to proof and perfect each essay. All four essays found below under the Exam 2 tab are required. No substitutions will be accepted. Content should include course concepts as well as your personal illustrations. Your text and power points should be used as a foundation for each question. Outside sources are not necessary for successfully responding to these questions, but may be used to supplement text material. Outside sources will not be accepted in lieu of text and power point definitions and concepts.
You have 48 hours to submit your responses through the Assignments tab. Submissions must be in Microsoft Word. Do not submit in pdf or wps format.
There is NO make up for this exam – if you miss the 48 hour window for submission you forfeit the opportunity for these points. Do not wait until the last minute to submit as drop box may close or technical errors may occur. Any submission errors other than an unscheduled PAWS downtime are the responsibility of the student. Essays sent vis email or any source other than the Assignments tab will not be accepted or reviewed.
These responses require more than just a paragraph or even a page of work. 2 pages per question are adequate for covering the topic and applying course sociological terms and concepts to the topic. Submissions less than 2 pages may lose points. Content should include course concepts from your reading in the text as well as your personal illustrations and applications. Submissions that fail to meet the required format will be subject to a loss of points.
Essays should be grammatically correct and checked for spelling and usage before submitted.
It is not necessary to use sources other than your required text. However, please cite all sources (including your text) used in your response. Citations should follow an MLA format, which includes a citation page at the end and notes within the text identifying sources and pages. (10 points) All direct quotes from any source must be indicated with quotation marks. All tests will be checked for plagiarism, which may result in an F for the test, the paper, or for the semester. If you have any questions as to what is considered plagiarism, please see your student handbook or contact me for clarification before submission. No citations may be added after exam is submitted.
