Final Project

Final Project

For your Final Project, you are asked to select an organization that might benefit from leadership coaching. This organization should be one with which you are familiar and could be one for which you currently work or have worked. In addition, the organization you select can be of any size and within any industry (e.g., education, business, public administration, and health).

Using the information presented in the course, you will consider specific coaching roles, skills and competencies, and approaches and models/frameworks that would be most beneficial in the organization you selected and to leaders within the organization. You also will analyze ethical issues, cultural considerations, and coaching challenges that might arise and how each might be addressed.

Your Final Project may be presented via one of the following options:

  • A 10- to 12-page (not including references, title page, or abstract), double-spaced, APA-formatted paper that is submitted.
  • A narrated PowerPoint presentation (minimum 20 slides) that is burned to a CD and mailed to your Instructor. This PowerPoint must be accompanied by a 3- to 4-page summary and follow these guidelines:
    • The narration, which serves as a verbal presentation, should include anything and everything you would say in a paper.
    • References and citations may be included at the end of the presentation in the final slides, or may be included throughout the presentation after the applicable information.
    • The presentation should demonstrate proficiency in the use of PowerPoint. Your Instructor cannot offer any guidance on technical issues.

All Final Projects, regardless of their format, must include the following:

  • Briefly describe an organization with which you are familiar that might benefit from leadership coaching and explain why. This could be an organization for which you currently work or have worked. Explain how the organization and its leaders might benefit from leadership coaching.
  • Describe the coaching roles (e.g., internal or external) you think might be most beneficial to the organization and its leaders and explain why.
  • Describe the coaching skills and competencies that would be most useful to the organization and its leaders and explain why.
  • Analyze potential ethical issues that might arise. Be sure to explain how each might be addressed, using specific ethical guidelines.
  • Describe diversity considerations you might make and how each might be addressed.
  • Describe at least two psychological approaches you might use and explain why you chose each. Be sure to include an explanation of the strengths and limitations of using each approach, based on the organization and its leaders.
  • Describe at least two models and/or frameworks you might use and explain why you chose each. Be sure to include an explanation of the strengths and limitations of using each model and/or framework, based on the organization and its leaders.
  • Explain how you might adapt each psychological approach and model and/or framework to fit the needs of the organization and its leaders.
  • Analyze challenges related to the coaching process that might arise and how each might be addressed.

Although the Final Project paper is not to be submitted until Week 11, Day 7, you should become familiar with the project requirements and have them in mind as you proceed through the course. Alternatively, your narrated PowerPoint presentation must be postmarked by Day 5.

The Final Project will be evaluated according to all four indicators in the Application Assignment and Final Project Writing Rubric, located in the Course Info area. Be sure that the Final Project is written using APA format.

Information on scholarly writing may be found in the APA Publication Manual (5th ed.), and at the Walden Writing Center Web site. Also see “Policies on Academic Honesty” under Walden University Policies and Information in the Syllabus-II.

Abstract

Coaching relates fundamentally to performance enhancement (frequently present moment) in a particular abilities territory. The objectives, or if nothing else the middle of the road or sub-objectives, are commonly set with or at the recommendation of the coach (Dryden, 2017). While the employee has an essential responsibility for objective, the coach has essential responsibility for the procedure. Much of the time, coaching includes direct outward criticism (for example the coach reports to the coachee what the person has watched).’ In this text, we will need leadership coaching and its benefits with relation to part of the experience I had working at Generali Group, an insurance company.

Generali Company is the largest insurance company in Italy and the third largest insurance company in the world. Coaching is a popular method in business, and truth be told without coaching most individuals would never reach their maximum performance potential (Carter, 2016).
